CCL E-Learning: self-paced video courses on CCL's own platform
CCL E-Learning (elearning.ccl.ma) is CCL's platform for video capsules: recorded courses and learning paths that professionals follow at their own pace. Learners buy a course or a path, pick up at the lesson where they stopped, check what they've learned with quizzes, and download their certificate from the same space.
I built it as full-stack developer at CCL, on the same system as CCL's live-programme site and dashboard.
The client
CCL (Centre de Compétences et Leadership) is a training academy in Marrakech that, by its own account, has trained professionals since 2004. Its main offer is live certifying programmes on ccl.ma. CCL E-Learning is the self-paced side: recorded courses in management, leadership and job-specific skills, sold one by one or as learning paths.
What they needed
CCL used to sell its courses on LearnWorlds, at $254.15 a month, with its students and videos on someone else's platform. When it left, it split its offer in two: live certifying programmes on ccl.ma, and self-paced video courses on a site of their own.
Recorded courses work differently from live programmes. There's no cohort and no seat count: people buy a course, watch at their own pace, and need to come back to the right lesson. CCL wanted them on their own site, but on the same system and data as the rest of the academy.
What I built
Courses and learning paths
Each course is split into modules and lessons. A learning path groups several courses into one ordered programme with its own price, and a free preview lets people try a course before they pay.
Quizzes and progress
Quizzes check each step. The learner's space shows what's done, what's left and the next lesson to resume.
Protected course material
Lesson PDFs carry a watermark, and videos play through signed links.
Card checkout and magic-link login
Learners pay by card through Stripe and sign in with a link sent to their email, with no password to remember. Their space lists what they've paid, any instalments still due, and their receipts.
Certificates and support
Certificates are downloaded from the learner space once the course conditions are met. Learners can also open and follow support requests without leaving their space.
What it lets them do
Learners buy and follow video capsules at their own pace, with Stripe checkout and magic-link login, on the same system as the rest of CCL.
CCL now sells its recorded courses on its own site, priced in dirhams, instead of through a LearnWorlds school billed every month. A learner buys, follows and finishes a course in one place and keeps their certificates there, and the courses share one system and one set of data with CCL's live programmes and its dashboard.
